Post can't stop sneezing

Hello everyone. I am hoping someone can help me. I am a 14 year old girl alergic to something I have sneezing that won't stop for hours. Every 5-10 seconds I will sneeze sometimes barely get air in and do not stop for up to one hour. That is a lot of sneezing hundereds every day. My nose is very itchy and my eyes are all red and dripping but the worst is my nose is always itchy and I sneeze and sneeze! It is not gentle snezing but violent five sneezes in one! It is embarasing people in my school are amazed at how much i sneeze. I cant stop and Clartin does not work. what should I do?

Have you been tested for food and environmental allergies?

Not a nice situation to be in,
sounds like you suffer from allergic rhinitis, which is basically a form of hay fever.

What you need to do is work out what you are allergic to, best way is to get a skin ***** test by a doctor/nurse.

Other things you can do is basic detective work, are you worse in the mornings/afternoon/evening/or all the time, is it worse when you go outside.

Another possibility is you may have a food allergy too, do you suffer from stomach aches ?

You can try all the anti histamines under the sun, but if the reaction is too much they tend not to have much effect.

Hope that helps

No, I never have stomach aches but my nose is red and sore. My head hurts after snezing those violent sneezes that are like 5 in one sneeze sometimes like 10 in one sneeze do you know what I mean? My mom says I dont need a doctor he will only give me medicine that is not good for me. But i hate such sneezing.

Changed your perfume recently ? Anyone smoke in the house ? You want to try and avoid anything that is likely to upset your nose.

Do you get feeling of pressure under your eyes and/or above your eyes, if so then maybe you have a sinus infection.

As for the sneezing, I understand what you are saying, I used to sneeze so hard that would get back/neck pains, and the day after my whole upper body would ache like anything.

Bottom line is you should go see your doctor and at least if they give you medicine they might help relieve your sneezing.

I understand your mother's concern about going on medications. But constant sneezing isn't good for you either. I too used to sneeze a lot and ended up with sore neck and face muscles from it. It can't hurt to ask the doctor what you can do. Then if he does suggest going on medication you can carefully review possible side effects and weigh your options.

Hi looks like you are alleric to an airborne susbstance, likely pollen, but not sure; you must see a doctor and try tests; an efficient test too you can made alone is when you begin sneezing wear a thick dust mask and wait untill sneezes stop (can take minutes or more, even hour. If it stops, the problem is airborne!

If allergy testing is negative another common reason to sneeze so much is non-allergic rhinitis. But also think about what kinds of perfumes/environmental scents are you in contact with, laundry detergents, fabric softeners as well.

Good luck, I hope you can figure it out!
