Question Allegra vs. Allegra D

I was given samples of Allegra D for sinus headaches until I could get a perscription filled for Allegra. The Allegra D was helping the headaches but now that I am taking Allegra, they are coming back again. Does anyone know what the difference is between these 2 drugs?

Cool

I'm not sure but my guess is that the "D" stands for Decongestant. This is usally added to provide some extra relief.

If the Allegra does not help try Chorotrimeton. As my allergist calls it "the old standby"

I also believe that the "D" stands for decongestant. THat is why it was helping your headaches---it was relieving the pressure associated with your allergy. The problem I had with it, though, was that I could not sleep when I took it the prescribed "twice a day". I still felt fine after many sleepless nights, but after a few weeks I quit taking it, and my body suddenly felt the fatigue of not sleeping. Now, when i take it, I take it only in the morning. Just a little information for you to think about...

Thanks for the information. I am going to see how I feel after a few more days and then talk to my doctor.
