Question Allergy and Drowsiness/Sleepiness

Dear all,

I need your opinions. My eyes are constantly dry. My eyelids are always itchy. Every morning when I wake up, my eyelids have lots of crusty particles ( sometimes it's very sticky) and my eyes feel tired all the time despite me constantly applying natural tears. I sneeze at least 10 times a day without fail. AND I'm always very very tired or somewhat sleepy. My question is that can allergy cause drowsiness? And are my above symtoms the result of an allergy? I have depression but somehow, no matter how i sleep i'm always so tired. Are any of you experiencing such symptoms? I don't know what's wrong with me ans so far no one has been able to help me. Would appreciate any of your opinions. Tks

It sounds like you have a food or environmental allergy. I'd recommend going for allergy testing with an allergist.

Hi,
Boy do I know how you feel! I've had allergies for the past 5 years. I just started taking allergy shots. They haven't really helped yet though.
I feel so tired, I can't concentrate or keep my eyes open. Today was really bad. I had to take a nap.
Here are some great links that will show you that drowsiness and allergies go hand in hand.

Have you seen an Allergist yet? If not I highly recomend it!
Take care! :-)

Allergies DO cause fatigue! http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/yawn.gif I suffer from allergies and yesterday i was so fatigued i almost fell asleep in the bathtub http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/bang.gif The trick is to try to pull yourself together and DO SOMETHING, whether it be excercise or cleaning, or anything. Sometimes you can cheat and take a nap, but remind yourself that their is life going on all around you and allergies should not ruin your day. I also get achy and suffer from head pressure- which i believe makes me tired because my head feels heavy, thus creating a tired effect. Anyways good luck with you allergy symptoms and don't forget who's boss!

Johanna
