allergy infection? doc says its not - Allergies Message Board

Sinus Infection?

Last month I recently saw my ENT(ear nose and throat) specialist for 3 main reasons.

1. Pain above my eyes especially above left eye
2. Light drainage from my left nostrol,(gross)
3. And extreme tiredness

He then sat me on the chair, looked up my nose with his special tool with a bright light and said "Everything looks good" need any refills on rhinocort?"( the nasal spray i use)

"no" i said as I walked out of the office dissapointed
believing he was right. after all he is the specialist.

good news ...i got your answer!!! It's allergies causing your sinus havoc..or severe congestion...i had the same story years ago and found out later there was nothing ..no infection...it was all allergy congestion...it makes you very sick...weak, dizzy, sleepy, tired, dull headache, light headed, weird doppy feeling...it's bad!!! Get checked for allergies...take an anti-immflammatory 600-800mgs...and sudafed..also it sounds like your sphenoid sinus could be swollen...which sits near your brain...that's why the bad symtoms...take an anti-immflammatory until you get help definately!! I know your frustration and struggle!!!

thanks for your reply.
I am currently taking allergy shots, im up to one shot every 3 weeks now. I also take clarinex or zrytec when needed. my allergies dont bother me very much, and i can breath well through both sides of my nose. Its just i have that pain around my eye near my eyebrow.

I would definetally try your advice, but oddly enough I am severly allergic to aspirin and so far from what I know aspirin is added to all anti-inflamitories. Do you know of any anti-inflamitories that dont contain aspirin?

And Yes i do feel sick, weezy, dizzy, and currently sleep almost all day long. I sleep an average of 12 hours a night with a 2 hour nap during my wake cycle.

Luckily my parents support me and I dont have a job right now or else my life would be miserable.

The other day I found an old Rx bottle of guaifen/p-prop(mucus thinner). Im starting to take it again in hopes of thinning out the mucus and allowing for drainage in the upper sinus cavity located near my eyes.

Oh yeah I almost forgot. I have a doctors appointment this monday. We'll see what he says.
