how can dr.'s tell if you have allergies? - Allergies Message Board

Hi everyone~
I'm curious how can your dr. tell if you have allergies? I went to my dr. the other day with other problems (nothing to do with allergies). And, he looked in my throat and told me I had allergies. The weird thing is I have no symptoms of having allergies whatsoever, but he put me on a medicine for it anyway. I know I should have asked him more about it while I was there, but I was too concerned with my other problems(which he couldn't treat-related to my thyroid).
Can someone please tell me how he could tell I had allergies?

Maybe he noticed you had some post nasal drip? Do you feel like you cough a little too often?

Allergies can manifest in a lot of different ways other than itchy eyes, runny nose, etc.

What were your other symptoms that you stated were thyroid related. I have an underactive thyroid myself.

The blood test is acurate.
