HI! I have been allergic to eggs since whenever I started eating solid foods! My reaction to eggs was very severe: puffy eyes, lips swelled up, itchy throat, mouth, rash, etc. The funny thing is I was allergic to RAW EGGS. So, I only got the reaction when eggs were not fully cooked. I could eat cakes, cookies, anything with eggs in it as long as it was cooked. I would get very itchy and have trouble breathing, etc, when I ate flan or anything else where the eggs were not fully cooked. I am NOT PERMITTED to take the flu shot!!! So, unfortunately I am not able to get that. This means that as long as the other family members are not contraindicated to receive the flu shot, it would be better for them to get the flu shot. Hope this helps.

Does anyone know how you can tell if someone who is allergic to eggs can eat stuff with egg cooked into it? The doc said something about this, but now I am wondering how find that out. Hopwfully we will just have to avoid straight eggs, because she has been fine with eating stuff with egg cooked into it.
Any input is apreciated. Thanks! |
