Anyone else know more? I thought it was some kind of allergy mechanism, not related to diet. But the diet thing is starting to make more sense?
I never had this spitting up mucous before. It all started at the end of my virus and I suppose during it. But I forget, as I no longer have my bad cough, of this winter.
Any insights? and what is best for post nasal drip?

Well I don't notice my pnd..I never did up until my doctor kept telling me I had it bad and swollen sinuses..kept thinkin I had ear & bronchial infections(well I've had a lot still) when half the time the ear pain & endless coughing is from pnd..I only know its there when i'm coughing all the freeking time, when i'm sick and I can feel it in my throat all gunky, and when my ears/throat hurt. It just kinda developed without my noticing..then I was wondering why my doctor gave me decongestants and steroid nasal sprays all the time..mine is allergy induced, I have seasonal and perennial allergies so their worst in the spring usually..you can tell its from allergies by trial and error of exposure.
It accumulates overnite yes, and can make it impossible to lay down from the coughing..I usually sleep propped up with 4 or 5 pillows when i'm sick(which is a lot)which helps, but it aint very comfortable.
Have you considered allergy bedding?? I mean like mattress encasings and pillows.. I hear they make a world of difference. Also if you think it may be allergy induced, you may want to try takin an antihistamine..if it helps, its allergies(this is how I was diagnosed).
