| Re: RAST test results ?
Take it from me, allergy testing is money well spent.
The main thing you want to find out is, whether or not your son has dust-mite allergies, or food allergies. Then you can take the appropriate steps to prevent problematic symptoms.
I didn't really know I had a dust mite allergy until last year. I was working in a VERY dusty environment underneath the stock exchange floor. That night I had a allergic reaction that quickly turned into asthma. My sinuses swelled, blocking off drainage. Weeks later, full-blown bacterial sinusitis developed, causing headaches, dizziness, nasty nasal discharge, etc. It took 14 days on Levaquin, 5 days on Prednisone, two weeks on Advair 25/250, and several nasal sprays to get the situation under control. This went on for 3 months, and I almost ended up on disability.
So the bottom line is, allergies an cause MAJOR problems if they are not dealt with corectly.
Go in for a full battery of tests. If he has some reactions, go for immunotherapy, and allergy-proof your house.
