Talking Problem found, hopefully!

Hi again,

I had an MRI done last week and got the results today. Everything looked great except my left maxillery sinus is cloged shut. My doc steped me down another 5mg of paxil, she thinks that the paxil may be making things worse for me and said that it most likely is causing the weird sensations. She said a cloged sinus could very well cause my brainfog and dizziness and put me on
400mg Tequin and sudafed, for now. She also checked my liver, thyroid, CBC, B12, potasium, hepatitus and did a EKG. Not bad for $15.00. I wish I would have seen her to start with. Very thourough, every doc should be that way.

Re: Problem found, hopefully!

My ENT told me that sinus blockage can cause dizziness and lightheadedness. That's what I was going through until I went on Prednisone.

I highly doubt your dizziness is due to anything else, such as Hepatitis, etc. Sounds like they are barking up the wrong tree a bit.

When the Maxillary sinus becomes blocked and inflammed, it presses on the inner ears. It also causes a feeling of constant "pressure".

Incidently, when I had my endoscopy yesterday, my doctor gave me a Novacaine spray. Immediately, my nose cleared, and stayed clear for almost the entire day. It was like a miracle drug. I felt 100% better, like I never had Sinusitis.

Unfortunately, I can't go around spraying Novacaine up my nose!

Chiggens,
do you think the Tequin and Sudafed will clear it up? Have you ever been put on Tequin, it is a strong antibiotic. I was put on antibiotics before and they did nothing.

She had all the other stuff I mentioned checked just to be on the safe side. That is good because I have suffered with leg pain for years and it is sometimes caused from defiecincies.

I think steroids are the only thing that will unblock a blocked sinus passage, and if that doesn't work than surgery to unblock is the next step. I just had the surgery and still dizzy at this time, but better, however I was told that until all the packing was out, the swelling had gone down, and I was healed that would be when the dizziness goes away and at this point I'm still swollen and the packing hasn't come out yet.

Hi Halls,
I took prednisone at the begining and it made me more dizzy. What do they do in surgery? Do they just get rid of the blockage?
