Yes, it could be allergy or it could be a virus you have caught.

Re: can lymph nodes swell from allergies?

My sons lymph nodes are more noticable when he has a major infection of course, but he has the one behind his right ear stay knotted up for the last two years. That was what prompted me to have him tested for allergies. The ones in groin area will also get larger and more noticable. He is currently receiving weekly injections for his allergies to mold and dust mites. They check his ear almost every time we are there. Some times it will be smaller but it is always there. It kinda scares me but they say its his body's way of showing that it is fighting something off.
Have you find out how to get rid of your mold? I have just went through sampling our air in our home and all and I went thru Commonwealth Labs. They were very helpful. I did the air sampling myself, they sent the equipment and explained how to do so.
I was told for what we have to use Dawn detergent to break up the mold, and then to wash down with White Vinegar. The allergy practioner is who told me this. She went to a conference and got some neat info. She also told me to dilute tea tree oil and spray my return air vents to kill any mold spores that may be floating around. We had our vents checked and were ok, but just to be safe we did this also anyway. It is a natural antiseptic. Very good for lots of other things as well.
Hope this helps.

Re: can lymph nodes swell from allergies?

When I was 16, I got a swollen lymph node on my neck (behind the ear). It never went away, and is still with me today (I'm 34). Sometimes it just happens I guess.

Most likely, you have a virus that is causing it, and it will go down again. Allergies don't generally cause swollen lymph nodes.

Re: can lymph nodes swell from allergies?

How about a high white blood count? Can allergies cause a high white blood count.
I have had a soar throat for some time and stuffy nose, runny nose, ichy eyes ect. Seems better when I take one of my husbands allegra 180's. Also I have noticed that I feel better when I leave my home soar throat goes away no stuffy nose ect. I think I may have hidden mold in my home.
Anyway my main question is the white blood count can allergies cause it? My wbc has been anywere between 10-16 thousand in the past year. That just worries me a bit, as soon as fall came my white blood count dropped to almost normal, I think it may be allergies but others say no. Any advise or input would be great......
