I'm getting shots for dust, dust mites, tree, grass, and ragweed pollen and mold. My sinus surgery was on the right side only. It was endoscopic sinus surgery He removed a cocha bullosa, reduced the size of a turbinate, and enlarged the opening of my maxilary sinus, and cleaned a bunch of gunk out of it. My ct scan showed no evidence of sinusitis by the time I got referred to the ENT. The only reason he opened up the sinus on my right was b/c in his experience when the turbinates are enlarged as mine were, that sinus gets blocked. Turns out the CT was right, sorta. He removed a lot of gunk, but said it was mostly allergy, very low bacteria count in the culture. He did a wonderful job except my left side now feels blocked a lot. I wish he had went ahead and opened up the left sinus too, but at the time he wouldn't b/c of the CT scan. He said this happens a lot, where people feel the side that wasn't operated on now feels blocked, but with time that feeling goes away. I'm not convinced, I'm sure there is allergy gunk stuck in there too. But for now, I'm just irrigating daily and waiting to see how it goes during grass and ragweed season.
Since everyone is different, my only recomendation is to get a second opinion. I didn't and although my surgeon was great, I feel he might have been too conservative. Another doctor might have done my left side too, or maybe agreed with my surgeon, but now I will never know.

Hi! New to the board! 
Hi I just wanted to introduce myself. I've suffered from allergies almost all my life, and have had sinus trouble since college. After 2+ years of allergy shots and a sinus surgery, I feel I might possibly be turning a corner. Anyway, I am excited about the prospect of learning new things as well as helping others.
