fruit and veggie allergies?? - Allergies Message Board

Everytime my daughter eats lettuce or raw carrots she gets a bad stomach ache (like someone wringing out a wash cloth she says) There is no nausea and there is no diarrhea, the pain is in the center of stomach, not low. This lasts a few hours. She also gets mild pain if she eats watermelon, and slight pain if she eats lemons or plums... we believe this is some sort of allergy, but to WHAT in each of these fruits??
(or should this be posted in digestive disorders?)

I don't know if this will help you, but I knew somebody who said that she was allergic to all raw fruits and vegetables. She was our department secretary for a while, so I didn't really know her well and never was able to figure out how that was possible. Sorry I don't have any details, but perhaps this is something to pursue researching or with the doctor?

i'm allergic to raw vegetables, and some fruits. maybe it is the acid. most likely her mouth or throat would swell or would get red patches on her skin or feel like itching a spot on her forehead, face, neck/throat area. i have these symptoms but have not been to the doctor. i just try to stay away from them!
