Yesterday, I went shopping at IKEA when all of a sudden, my hand became very itchy and swollen. I couldn't even bend my fingers to the point of making a fist because they were so swollen. If anybody has ever gotten frostbite on their hands, that's exactly what it felt like. This has happened to me twice in the past month. And I've also been suffering from hives almost every day.
I've been suffering from anxiety for 3 months now, and the docs gave me Xanax, Klonopin, and now Celexa. All of them appear to be giving me hives.
But what could be causing the itchy swollen hands??? I've been reading around, and the only thing that explains all the symptoms I've been having is dysautonomia!
I'm freaking out here because the docs keep telling me it's anxiety, but I have a feeling it's something more.
i get that also ..but only when i touch something cold, like when i am holding a cup of icecream.. i don't know what it could be either...i found out recently that i am allergic to everything it seems like ...so u might wanna get allergy tested
This happens to me as well, i seriously doubt it is dysautonomia. I am not sure why it happens other then thinking it is an allergy of some sort. I have this problem in other stores as well. It has happened for years but it getting worse. It started out by just my thumb getting itchy, swollen. Now its my hands. IKEA is real bad for it, but it also happens at other warehouse type of stores and at bed bath and beyond. I tend to touch things as I look the more I touch the worse it gets. stopping and washing my hands really helps so does bringing along a hand cleaning gel. Hope this was helpful for you.
