How long do I need to wait... - Allergies Message Board

for Flonase to start working???? I started last Friday, so that is 3 days, but I don't see good results yet. Is the medicine no working for me? or I have to wait more?

A inhaled steroid of that sort can take up to a year to fully take effect.
Flonase isn't a quick fix- it takes a good few weeks for it to start to get the inflammation down.
Combination therapy I find works best when treating a flare up- for example, Sudafed, Clarinex & Flonase work great together. Medications can be added on also to really jump start things such as Astelin, Nasalcrom, Benadryl at nite & Prednisone for serious flare ups.
People here on the boards highly recommend irrigating before using a nasal spray- may help, I haven't tried it personally though i'm scared hehe.

It might take 2 or 3 weeks to have the full effect I guess. 3 days is too short to tell whether the medication is working for you, so you have to wait for a while...

For me any Steriod nose spray takes up to a week before it really starts working, so give it more time. It all depends on the med and you, so could be a couple of weeks before you see a big notice.
