Dark circles under my eyes

Good morning!!
Guys, I'm freaking out!!! I have had these dark circles under my eyes for the past two weeks. I finishes another course of antibiotics about 10 days ago, and because I still had inflamation the doctor gave me oral cortisols (Medrol). BUT the puple circles didn't go away and so didn't the inflamation. I'm so depressed right now. What is this?????? Is it related to sinuses or allergies???
Please reply

Re: Dark circles under my eyes

The circles could be from bad allergies or a low-level infection.

You may want to get a CT Scan done to check and see if there is an infection in the sinus cavities.

Do you have any structural problems? Deviated Septum? Bone spur? Polyp?

No I don't have any structural problem.... the infection went away... I finished 2 weeks of antibiotics 10 days ago... after 2 weeks the doctor saw me and said that the infection was gone.

Re: Dark circles under my eyes

I am a CMA and I did some research about this. I had the same thing happen to me, and I found out I had allergies. The allergies *and lack of treatment* were causing me to get dark circles under my eyes, and as soon as I started getting injections, the circles went away. I would advise you get allergy tested as soon as possible.

Re: Dark circles under my eyes

Thanks for your reply. Actually I went to the allergist and I'm mainly allergic to dust and dust mites. My skin got sooo read and swell.... then also dogs (but I don't have a dog). My doc put me only on astelin and nasacort BUT she said I may need allergy shots. I asked her about the circles and she said they are definitely allergy related. I hope they go away with the shots... because I look 10 years older...
