Raweed and Chamomile connection?
I have heard chamomile and ragweed cross-react. Anyone know if this is true? Many sources say that although it is a possibility, it does not happen to everyone. Anyone here allergic to ragweed who is also allergic to chamomile? Anyone here allergic, but can drink chamomile without any problems? I'm curious b/c many skin care products are including chamomile lately, and I am wondering if I should be avoiding it.

These two plants are related and can cause the same reactions. I have not experienced it first hand because I stay away from it. However, I have heard of others who have had a reaction to drinking tea with the plant in it.

Chamomile and ragweed are from the same family. I avoid all chamomile products as I have a severe ragweed allergy.

But have either of you actually suffered a bad reaction or do you avoid it "just in case?"

I have so many allergies it is hard to attribute any reaction to one thing. I avoid chamomile since it is in the ragweed family.
