You name it I am allergic to it. I am very allergic to cat, dust, trees, pollen, mold, nuts. And my allergist told me that I have a senativity to the following:
Yeast, brewers yeast, apples, oranges, celery, tomatoes, wheat, oats, dairy, mushrooms, corn, and I think there is more but I don't have my list with me.
It is so hard to NOT eat any of these I really try........does anyone recommend allergy shots?? What do they do? Everyday, I wake up with puffy eyes, stuffed up, and later in the day i get a lightheaded...brain foggy feeling. I am worried that this my be something else and not from allergies but what else could it be?
Hope fully someone can shed some light on this.
Thanks
I don't know much about food allergies, but allergy shots have been very effective for me with my pollen/ dust/ mold/dog allergies. Before I got shots, I was taking the best allergy prescriptions out there, and my allergies were still out of control. The shots were what finally made me start to feel normal again.
The symptoms you described can definately be caused by allergies. You also might want to make sure your allergies didn't cause a sinus infection, because they can cause your symptoms also.
I take allery shots and I think they do good for some. It is worth it to give them a try. I have been on them for 7 months now. It usually takes a year for to really tell a difference. I haven't felt that yet, but I'm still going to take them. I go into my ENT's office once a week and geth the shot. You'll have to do that until your on maintanence and can do them at home yourself. It takes a while to get to maintanence, I'm still not on it. Anyhow, you should give it a try. Can't hurt you.
Thanks for your response. Do you ever feel like you can't think or concentrate? Kind of a spaced out feeling, lightheaded not dizzy but I don't know...... it is a hard feeling to describe. I have been noticing that when this feeling is happening I have been bending over doing something and that is seems like my sinus' fill up and then my top teeth feel funny too! It is driving me crazy....It is nice to know that I'm not the only one.
i would deffinently reccomend them since you have so many allergies. this is my third year about with allergie shots. they have really helped.. except with the puffiness, but with the foods and flowers and stuff like that, it has made such a difference. the first year it doesnt really hurt, it's actually kind of itchy but once they start concentrating them, it really hurts but only for a few seconds. ice really helps the pain.
