This is my first year living in southern Delaware. I am fine in my house but as soon as I go out I begin sneezing, coughing, and I get a flem build up in my throat that is difficult to expel. It is Januray and I checked the pollen counts which is zero. Does anyone have any idea as to what is causing these sypmtoms? Thanks!

Thanks for you reply.
Mold is everywhere here, on fences, the sides of houses, and it must be on
the ground. Can mold casue allergic reactions in winter?

sneezydiva, I live in Delaware too so I know how you feel. Are you taking anything for allergies? It is something you might want to think about. I take Allegra-D twice a day, everyday. I have tried going with out it for a day or two and felt terrible. I think as long as I live in Delaware it will be a part of my life. I hope this helps you a little.
Yes, even in winter mold can cause reactions. Have you tried any antihistimines? Also I would think about getting some 3M furnace filters to filter the air in your home. You said you are fine in your house, and keeping the air clean will help keep it that way.
Sneezydiva,
I change my heater filters frequently and also have two Surround Air machines which do a very good job in the house. I also try to keep the humidity at about 40%. I do have Allegra 180 that was prescribed for pollen related symptoms but I don't know if it will work with
my current symptoms.
