Hi. I have terrible, thick, gagging PND at night ALL night. I use flonase daily, just before bed, which seems to help some, but not as much as I'd like. What else is good home remedy? I don't sleep well because I'm clearing, snorting, swallowing, etc. all night. You know how it goes I'm sure.

I've found salt water to be effective with serious sinus congestion. Is it good for controlling this, too? What are good irrigation techniques for PND?

Any suggestions of things you've found helpful would be GREATLY appreciated!

I'd think the salt water would work...because if you're not congested, the snot fromy your sinuses is dripping your throat...so if you used the salt water, that would thin it out...and you'd be able to blow it outta your nose, thus it would not be there to go down your throat. Make since?

Irrigation will help a lot with the PND. For me, Flonase actually causes more PND, initially becasues it unblocks the sinus passage and allows stuff stuck up there to drain. After about 2 hours, the PND usually goes away. For this reason I try to use it at least 2 hours before bedtime.

Try the upside down irrigation idea on another post - it works well. Try using your flonase in the morning.

I have had that problem for many years and since i've been using a Netti Pot (mix warm water with non-iodized salt for it) every morning and night i've been able to flush out most of the mucus in the sinuses and minimize my drip as well as sinus infections.
