Please help.. allergies? - Allergies Message Board

I just moved into a new dorm room at my college. The first day I was here, yesterday, I had a runny nose and I was a little dizzy but I didnt pay it much attention. This morning I woke up and I was so stuffy, coughing, headache, itching and watering eyes, and my head feels so heavy. Also, it felt like someone was choking me. If I turn off the heat I start to feel better. The only problem with that is that it's so cold without it. I took a Benadryl and I felt better for a short time but it didnt last.

This same thing has happened to me at home a couple times recently but not nearly this bad. Could this be allergies? It doesnt feel like a cold or virus to me.

Yeah...sounds like a mold/dust allergies...probably agrivated by the heater blowing stuff out.

Whether it's a virus or allergies, a humidifier or vaporizor should help the symptoms until you can pin it down. You don't want the humidity too high or mold can grow, but if it's too low your mucus membranes react badly.
