| Re: Constant Post Nasal Drip...why?
I have had post nasal drip for 2 years practically every day. It's very frustrating and I have tried so many things to get rid of it and have been unsuccessful. The only thing that temporarily works for me is 2 Benadryl (the PND makes me nauseous and the Benadryl helps w/ that and partially dries up the drip) and sometimes high doses of vitamin C helps (like 5000 mg a day of vitamin C powder). The irrigation never worked for me. Watching my dairy intake makes a difference too. But no matter what I do I cannot completely get rid of it.
I do have chronic sinusitis and allergic rhinitis. My Sinus CT scan came back pretty good. The ENT did not seem too concerned except for chronic sinusitis most likely caused by my allergic rhinitis. I also had a cranial CT for chronic headaches and that was perfectly normal too. The headaches get worse when the drip is really bad. I have to wonder if the PND causes the headaches? I suppose the pressure from the sinuses could cause the headaches.
I think I may need to get allergy shots (maybe that will work). But people have told me that allergy shots did nothing for their PND.
Try some of things I mentioned, maybe you will have some luck with it.
