Feel Like I'm Dreaming? - Allergies Message Board

I've been having allergies now for four months, and I always feel tired and spaced out and like I'm dreaming. My vision is dim and my eyes are itchy and sticky, sometimes I see eye floaters too. Has anyone experienced this? It's not from medication, it was my first symptom, when i went to the doc he told me I had rhinitis. Nothing makes the foggy spacy head go away, and I've learned to live with it. Its taking a real toll on my life, i missed a court date! Also, I've been staying with my friend who has kitties, even though I'm allergic to them, even when i leave his house the dim vision and spacy head continue. Can anyone relate?? My ears feel full, and my nose runs alot. I also have anxiety and stress.

HELP PLEASE!

Yes what you describe is very common for allergies, especially allergies that are not being treated properly. Have you been prescribed any medicines? That would be your first step, as well as getting away from the cats ASAP.

I've been in the dream like state for about four months now too. It is awful feeling so spacey all the time and it is difficult to enjoy anything. My eyes are also really sticky and gooey, but they can usually be helped by antihistamines and eye drops. The fog on the other hand, it never goes away. I am looking into inner ear disorders right now. The disconnected, head in a fishbowl type feeling is often described by people with inner ear problems.

Do you get the dim/dream vision too?

My vision doesn't go dim, so much as cloudy. I can still read letters, in fact I was at the opthomologist about two weeks ago and my vision is 20/25- nearly perfect, so my eyes aren't out of focus. It is almost like looking through a layer of gauze. And when I go from reading or looking at something right in front of me, to looking at something in the distance, it takes three or four seconds for my eyes to come into focus.
