alkalol for irrigation? - Allergies Message Board

Has anyone used it and if so do you dilute it? Also do you find it helps more or less than a saline solution? Can you mix the two?

Actually- Alkalol is to be used to give moisture and soothing to the nose. It is not for irrigation. I do use it when my nose is dry and when it is irritated.
It is quite strong if you use it without it being diluted. I was instructed to mix it 1/2 and 1/2 with sterile water.
They gave me a sample spray bottle of a nasal spray and poured the contents out. I mix the alkalol and use the bottle to use it as a spray.
It is wonderfully soothing and has no rebound (swelling) effects with extended use.

Dr. Grossan recommends using it with the saline solution, but I have never tried it.

I use it in my irrigation machine, but usually only about 5ml per every 500ml of distilled water. It is a mucus solvent.

I've had good luck with it.
