In the last 3 months I have had 2 very scary episodes that have landed me in the ER. It seems to be some kind of allergic reaction, but never develops into full blown anaphylactic shock. This is what happens:

Severe Abdominal cramps
I rush to bathroom thinking I have diarrhea.
Sit on toilet, nothing much happens, just cramping
Sudden flushed feeling all over
Palms of hands, soles of feet start tingling, burning, itching like crazy, turn bright red and swell up

The first time this happened, my whole body broke out in a rash/hives, so I was taken to hospital. By the time I saw the doctor it was completely gone. I never had swelling in my throat, just externally, although the roof of my mouth felt weird and itchy.

The second time it happened (last night), I didn't get the hives, but I felt so sick, like I was dying, and I was totally weak and thought I might faint. I also had the weird palm and soles itchiness, tingling, bright red thing and severe abdominal pain. Again, by the time I arrived at the ER, I was better.

What the heck is this? Is this some mild form of anaphylaxis? I do have panic disorder, and some of the symptoms overlap, but this is entirely different than my normal panic attacks. Of course, I did have a panic attack last night after my symptoms started, because I was afraid I really was going into shock. I think the EMTs thought it was just a panic attack.

I'm going to my doctor today at 1, but I wanted to know if anyone else has experienced similar symptoms. I'm so scared of this happening again. I'm 36 years old and never had any type of allergic reactions before.
