hello, i am 28 and have suffered from hayfever since i was a teenager. the last few years my hayfever has not been as bad as it used to be but i still get symptoms such as sneezing, itching, runny nose, itchy eyes and breathing difficulty. The only medication i take is an antipsychotic. last year when i was psychotic i took an overdose of cetirizine and also cimetidine. even though it was a while ago i was wondering if the overdose had a long term effect. i am getting involuntary twitches/jerks of my arms, legs, head, movements of my tongue and facial twitches. my doctors say it is anxiety. has anyone experienced or heard of this?
It is doubtful that the antihistimine overdose has had any long term effects. With it being so long ago, it would definitely be out of your system now.
It is possible that your muscle twitches are anxiety related. If you have a lot of anxiety, you would get a lot of muscle tension, and periodically it would need to be released. Perhaps some relaxation exercises would help.
However, I would check to make sure your anti-psychotic drugs are not causing an electrolyte imbalance. Low potassium can cause muscle cramps and twitches. I once experienced severe involuntary muscle spasms, and it turned out to be low potassium levels caused by the high protien diet I was on.

Hi
I believe sneezydiva is right, but I also would suggest taking Valerian root( you can find in any Drug Store), it's a plant, completly natural and it helps relax. I use it when I am very nervous, or have trouble falling asleep.
Good luck
