Hope you are feeling better. When are they going to UP your allergy shots?? I hope it'll make you feel lots better.
I have a ? for you. What were your symptoms prior to your sinus surgery?? I know you said you havent had problems like before your surgery.................and was curious to what you felt like before. Thanks!!!

They will have my new shots ready to go Monday. Yay!

As far as my symptoms, I had major head congestion, (though my nasal congestion wasn't too bad) frequent and horrible sinus headaches, my ears felt very full, brain fog, occasional dizziness, very thick PND, very tired all the time, I needed 10-12 hours of sleep.

My allergist was very sympathetic to all these symptoms, but said I needed to be patient for the shots to kick in. But then I started having the shortness of breath symptoms, I've posted about in the past. And that is when the allergist suspected sinusitis was complicating the situation.

After the surgery, I have no more shortness of breath, no dizziness, brain fog only on rare occasions (usually after being heavily exposed to allergans) Less head congestion, ears rarely feel full, less frequent and severe headaches, (though weather changes still cause them) thinner PND, and now I require a much more normal 8-9 hours of sleep to function.

So I'm obviously not allergy symptom free, but much, much better. I am hopeful that finally with the right allergy shots, things will get even better.

I hope you are able to get a CT scan and some answers soon. I forget, have you actually been tested for allergies?

I forgot to mention, I also had HORRIBLE dark circles under my eyes. They disappeared after my sinus surgery. Now I only get very faint ones when allergies act up.

Hi sneezy...........TY for your reply. I went to a new ENT yesterday.......sent to him by SS for disability claim. I haven't been able to work for a year now, and a friend told me I should apply, and then if I get better, I can always go off of it. I found out more from him, with this one visit, than I have the whole year, i've been going to different Drs. I thought i had Meiners.........a Dr. diagnosed me years ago........but I knew that what ive been dealing with the past year, was different. Anyway, he told me I didn't have Meiners. He said my left eardrum was retracting inward.......and that I must have had alot of sinus issues going on this last year. Also, a test he done, showed I didn't have nerve damage..........and what I did have was one of two things. The first being something called......(sp??) ostis sclerosis........and the next being something wrong with an inner bone........well, the Dr. who diagnosed me with Meiners, said a bone in my ear had disenegrated...........so I am hoping thats what this is. I looked up ostis sclerosis, but it always brings me to MS.........which, makes me panic. The Dr. that seen me yesterday was awesome........he wasn't suppose to tell me the results, but called me on the phone, and told me all of this. He told me I could have surgery to correct my hearing if it is the bone.........and I should get back most or all of my hearing in my left ear. Also, with my eardrum doing this, it makes sense to me that if my allergies, cause my sinuses to become inflammed, thats why im having so much trouble with dizziness and the foggy head. He told me to come back to him anytime and he would help me. He only done what was asked of him for the disability claim. The only problem is, is that I don't have health insurance. Im thinking of calling his office back monday, and get more info about the ostis sclerosis?? Its worth a try anyway. He didn't give me info on it, but I was happy that he called back and told me what he did.

That's wonderful! I'm so happy that you were able to get some answers. I wouldn't worry too much about the internet searches and MS. It is obviously focusing in on the sclerosis part of the name. If I recal correctly, otis means ear.

Anyway, I would definitely call him back and ask more questions. Many doctors are willing to work for reduced fees for non-insured. After all, Insurance usually never pays the full amount billed.
