| Re: Does anyone else go through this??
I am 48 and have had allergies all of my life, particularly sinus drainage, congestion, etc. I was diagnosed at age 44 with asthma.. I don't have typical asthma symptoms, just a vague shortness of breath sometimes with exertion. But during allergy season it is worse; I do sneeze a lot also. I have animals ( 3 dogs) that I am in love with, so I will not get rid of them. One of them even sleeps with me and my husband (which I know is a big NO NO). However, along with the prescriptions meds, which I think produce miminal results, I use a sinus rinse each night, take a lot of vitamin C, and use a mask when I work in the yard. The sinus rinse does wonders. Go to your local health food store and you can ask about them. You can use them several times a day if needed. The asthma bothers me. I hate the fact I have to take inhaled steroids every day. But the fact is, my lung function test showed narrowing of my small airways and I am afraid not to take it.
My best advice to you is: eat well with plenty of veggies and fruit, cut down on dairy, sugar and fast food. Take lots of vitamin C (it is a natural antihistamine) and try your best to stay away from things you know bother you.
Good luck!
Cindy
