could i be allergic to vitiminC/citrus..? - Allergies Message Board

whenever i eat/drink anything citrus, or take vitimin C tablets, i feel sick, and often get a bit of diarreh later on, but im lactos-intolerant, also, im 16, and 84lbs, somewhere under 5'1'', incase thats relvent.

am i alergic to vitimin C too, or do i am i sensative to the acids, or what?

(please excuse any gramaticle errors or typos, i have a verbal disability)

don't know about the Vitamin C for sure but yes you can be allergic to citrus. You can actually be allergic to anything food or non food. I'm not sure what it is in citris that one would be allergic to or even if it is the same for all but I would think maybe it is the acid levels in it. Citris can also be a migrane trigger for some. I would still make sure you take a multi vitamin with Vitamin C in it but stay away from the citris itself.

How much are you consuming? Diarhea is very common (and harmless) side effect of consuming too much vitamin C.
