Re: dizzy, off balance, lightheaded

I just posted something on this on another thread. It could possibly be some sort of vestibular disorder, having to do with the inner ear. My sister was disgnosed with this but it took a lot of tests. I have a lot of your/her symptoms, but have not been officially diagnosed. See an ENT (ear/nose/throat dr.)

Re: dizzy, off balance, lightheaded

It could very well be an inner ear infection or vertigo which usually corrects itself within a couple of weeks.

Re: dizzy, off balance, lightheaded

Dizziness can be from several different things. One being inner ear and the other being sinuses. You can have all sorts of inner ear problems and sinus problems.

Do you remember how your dizziness started? Do you remember having a bad sinus infection around the time it started? Do you ever feel stopped up in your ears? One can be a sinus problems and the other an ear.

I suggest you see and ENT to get to the bottom of it. I am dizzy and have been for 2 years, but mine is from a blocked sinus air cell in my sinus. After 3 surgeries my ENT thinks he can get to the spot to correct what the blockage but we are holding off a bit until I can get over a massive infection I have right now.

Bad allergies can make havoc on your sinuses and cause all sorts of problems. but you won't know what is causing the dizziness until you see your ENT!

Re: dizzy, off balance, lightheaded

This is an inner in thing. I had it and went to the specialist and everything. He could do nothing for me. One day I was talking to someone they told me my inner ear was too dry. So I started to take cod liver oil pills. and it worked. I do not talk them everyday, but only when I feel the need.

Re: dizzy, off balance, lightheaded

it started like 4 months ago.. had ACL surgery, and 2 or 3 weeks after i got hit with this vertigo crap.

seeing a nuerotologist now, just did an eng on my ears so we'll see.

also have a thyroid problem apparently now and so they were thinking it is caused by that, but it hasnt gone away since being on the medication for it.

i've had the whole head MRI and everything so, who knos.
