Itchy arms and legs - Allergies Message Board

Hi all - hoping someone can help me out here.

For the last 3 weeks or so I have been having a really intense itch on my arms and legs.

I have no idea what it is, as I haven't done anything different. I always get it in the evening, and sometimes in the morning. It's driving me bonkers.

When I scratch, my skin goes bright red, and I get little bumps on it (not like huge hives or anything, but almost like goosebumps).

Could it be winter itch? If it was something I was ingesting, then would I be itchy all over, not just my arms and legs? Does anyone have any idea what this may be? Is it an allergy to something?

I'm really frustrated with this. When it starts I just can't scratching. Does anyone have any suggestions, or similar experiences??

Do you generally have really sensitive skin? I get this in the winter mostly...and sometimes in the summer. I have very fair sensitive skin and it is just dry skin that I have. To get rid of this I suggest getting a really good skin lotion like Aquafor....don't just get the cheap stuff. To help it you need a really thick good lotion to mositurize. Anyway, I don't think you need to worry. To help until your skin is back to normal take a little benedryl at night. That always helps!
