Arrow My eyes are itchy, watering and hurt..........

Hi,

I have been posting on the general board lately and have come to the conclusion that I have allergies.

Today, my eyes have started to itch, water and really hurt.

I have put regular visine in them only to make it worse.

Do you think if I took an allergy pill it will help, or is there something else I can do.

I just put a warm compress on my eye, now I can't see out of the eye it is all blurry.

P.S. I wore make up today for the first time in a while, do you think this would have anything to do with it? I only applied a very tiny bit of eye shadow on this morning.

Thanks.....

Hi lookinforanswer, You should go an see your doctor or allergist. Mine has prescribed Patanol eye drops for me and it really helps me. It's an antihistimine for your eyes! I no longer have itchy, red eyes!! Hope this helps.

Hi,

I went tonight and bought some Visine-A, my eyes are feeling somewhat better but will have to wait until tomorrow to really see.

The inside corner of my eye by my nose is all swollen and red and I guess it where the tears come from.

It just looks wierd to me, because that is all red and my eye is red too.

Kind of sucks but I know I have to deal with it.

Thanks

yeah my whole body is itchy broken out and hurts.... so yeah it is something you learn to deal with, luckly you only got one little symptom. your doctor can forsure give you something that with long term use will not casue any searious side affects. (unlike me) I get itchy waterin eyes sometimes . and I have to take 2 allergie pils, its the only thing that will help me. they got some strong stuff in the hospital too when it is everywhere and everything.

you know I have actually had bad allergies in my stomich? lol

Hi Lookinforanswer, You might want to check with your eye doc. You may have a blocked tear duct.

Re: My eyes are itchy, watering and hurt..........

I've developed the itch eye allegies symptom last year as well (about 5 years ago I realized I am not getting cold continuously.... I have allegies.) My DR gave me a few different eye drop prescriptions but their effectiveness weren't all that impressive.

My itch eyes are back this spring and I'm suffering again... washing with tap water and putting Opcon-A helps a little but the itchness drives me up the wall... inevitably I rub my eyes and now the skin around my eyes are turning strange... swallen and somewhat like getting calloused...thicker and wrinkly...

From what I remember from last year it goes away in a couple of months... I hate this...

Re: My eyes are itchy, watering and hurt..........

I have gotten great relief from Similisan Allergy Eyes (homeopathic remedy).
I tried it without much faith that it would work, but I was very surprised at how quickly all the irritation went away. After a few days, I hardly have to use it at all. Look online for locations where you can buy it.
