Anyone have "Hat on Head" Sensation? - Allergies Message Board

Hello.

This is driving me nuts. I have had allergies and sinus issues for many years.
This year though something new has developed. I have pressure on top of my head. Like I'm wearing a pair of glasses on top of my head or a hat. No pain or anything. I do get lots of facial pain and nasal congestion from my sinuses. This pressure comes and goes, sometimes lasting for a few days but when I lay down it goes away. Anyone else have this? Is it from allergies/sinuses and what do you do to make it go away?

I have had that head pain too-I think it is related to my sinuses!!! I h ave had all the tests MRI,CTs and nothing showed up-dr always said it must be your allergies/sinuses!!!

I never had this pressure/pain until this year. It sucks!! My guess, it is from inflammation due to allergies irritating your sinuses. SOmetimes I get bad pressure on the bridge of my nose, and i am usually stuffy as well. It sometimes helps when I irrigate or take sudafed. If I go to an ENT they will prob suggest opening all of my sinus cavities, but I am through with surgeries.

My pressure occurs more on the back of my head. But I know exactly what you mean.

I am feeling the same way. You have described the way my head feels to a tee. How did you get rid of it? I have suffered from this problem since November. I have been on 4 rounds of antibiotic and prednisone. (3 head cts, but no MRI) My last round was in March and April, May were great very little head pain. I cant say I have a headache I have horrible pressure top of my head, next day on the side of my head (both sides) then around. Doctor keeps telling me tension headaches, but come on everyday. I just dont know. Now for the past 3 weeks I have had horrible pain, ears hurting, nasal junk running down back of throat and sneezing. What can I do? I take Allegra and Cingulair, squirt junk up my nose, What am I doing wrong? I guess I am so upset about this because I got a taste of pain free 2 months and I really thought I was cured. No luck, if anybody has any ideas I am all ears. If you have experienced this tell me about it please!!!!

I forgot to add I too get the pain on bridge of my nose, It is hard to believe that this is allergies.
