Eye Allergy Pain And Allergy Shots - Allergies Message Board

It's like 3 monthes already that im having the most annoying eye pain, that sometimes, to me , is unbearable.
The doc diagnose was that I am suffering from allergic conjunctivitis And til Now he presecribed me like 5 Types of antihistamin eyedrops.
The eye drops may help a little but my eyes are still abit red, and most important hurts and tearing.
I want to mention that the pain is more painful in the right eye and I sometimes also have pain in the upper eyelid .
I`ve been at 4 eye doctors and all they see is the allergic conjunctivitis.
My main questions are:
Could eye allergy cause Pain around the eyes/pain in the upper eye lid?
Could eye allergy cause pain even it's not really red?
Could eye allergy make you be sensitive to light?
Is it possible for someone to have sinsusitis without a stiffy nose?
Could Immunotherapy elliminate my eye allergy?
What diseases causes pain around the eyes and are there any other tests I should ask my eye doctor to take?

Does just the actual eye hurt or do you also have pain surrounding the eye? Do you also have any sinus headaches? The fact that it is more severe in one eye than the other could indicate a sinus infection in one of the sinuses around that eye. And yes, you can have sinusitis without the stuffy nose. Also, have the eliminated the possibility of a bacterial conjunctivitis?

Since you are a soldier, do they allow you to take antihistimines? The eyedrops can only do so much for allergies. For really bad ones, you need something internal. Allegra is non-drowsy and works really well.

Immunotherapy has helped me with all my allergy symptoms. It takes them a while to be fully effective. I can't say it has eliminated my allergies though. I still have to take my meds and use my eyedrops when the pollen is out. But I actually get relief now, when before the medicines never were strong enough.

Thank you very much for your response.
I`m also having a pain in my head temples and above my eyebrows, Especially the right side of the head.
When a doctor is knocking over the part above the eyebrows it doesn't hurt and also all the regular sinusitis checking ways also haven't showed a sinusitis sign.
Is it still possible I still have sinusitis? I hope i'll be able to check it next week.
Meanwhile I'm using a chinease medicine called bi yang pian if im not mistaken, I take it for about 5 days already, d'ya know this medicine? does it suppose to help?
I started yesterday to take allergy shots, And I hope It'll might help me abit with my pain.
oh and yeah, I do have redness itchiness and watery eyes.
I really apperciate your help.

Your welcome. You headache could be from a possible infection OR it could be pain from a swollen turbinate in your nose. These are caused by allergies, though sometimes they become permantly enlarged and need to be reduced. I had constant headaches like you described before my turbinate surgery. The ENT said my headaches were caused by the swollen turbinate. The turbinate was the only thing to show up on the sinus CT scan, there was no sinusitis. If you have already had the X-rays, you should request that an ENT look at them.

Are there any other causes you can think of that causes my eye pain?
In the army I need to be my own doctor and to know what exams I should ask from the doctors or which doctors to go.
