When he gets near one of them his nose gets clogged, eyes water,itch, and are red, and he wheezes. It is not that bad but it bothers him. What can we do to help him with this problem? I have two cats and he has a very new kitten and a dog that can’t live with him. Please help us find something, I hate seeing him suffer.

Most animal allergies can be relieved for 24 hours with a dose of loratadine (generic). This is the drug that was origianlly marketed as "Claritin", but it is now sold over the counter, and quite cheaply. Just go to the drugstore to the allergies isle and pick up a pack labeled "loratadine". Jut make sure you get the plain loratadine, and not the stuff mixed with other drugs for treating bad colds.

Loratadine needs to be taken once ever 24 hours. If it doesn't work for you boyfriend, then he might want to consider removing the animals from his home.

I agree with starting on a once a day allergy medicine. If the loratadine "Claritin" doesn't work, he may want to see a doctor about a prescription allergy medicine. I take Allegra once a day. I have year round allergies, but I am also allergic to cats. I also live with 2 cats (soon to be 3 because we are introducing a new cat into our house gradually) I find it helps a lot with being around them. There are still things I have to do to minimize the allergins.. We have an air filter/purifier in our bedroom, we use the good allergen filters in the heating and air system. I also make sure to vaccuum often to get up the cat hair. The other thing is to know your boundaries of what makes it worse.. for me I can't put my face too close to the cats or else my eyes get watery and itchy.
