Red blothces on skin but tested negative for STD and HIV so what are they - Allergies Message Board

have been recently tested negative for HIV twice ...recently i devloped what looks like red spots on my skin ...they arent raised but they are red blotches ....I have them on my chest neck and arms and I have them in the back of my legs ..i recently had a UTI which the doctor put me on antibiotics called bactrim ....i recently finished my antibiotics could it be from the antibiotics that I broke out in these red painless looking blotches .....its impossible for me to be now HIV poz as i got tested twice .and I got restested for STD's and came back negative ..So I dont know what is going on and I dont want to panic anymore if there is a doctor on these boards can you please tell em what is going on with me so i can finally have a clear mind and head ...PLEASE HELP

Antibiotics can cause allergic reactions or skin rashes. Rashes can have many different causes. See a doctor.

Do they itch?

I had low-level posion ivy all over my body after my dogs tracked it into my house. I had never had it before, and it appeared as 1-2 inch red streaks all over my body that would only blister and thicken if I scratched. Very itchy though! I didn't know what it was for days because I didn't think it could be posion ivy as I hadn't had any direct possible contact with plantlife in weeks!

It could be tinea versicolor... try putting Lamisil on them for 2 weeks and then wait a week after you're done to see if it goes away.
