Do I have allergies? - Allergies Message Board

I know I have allergies and maybe that's all it is but my usual allergies meds aren't working. In fact they aren't relieving my symptoms at all. So here's how I feel- runny nose with lots of discharge, inability to pop my ears ( so annoying!!! ) and sore throat and headache that mostly only come at night. Has anyone else had this? It has me wondering if it is only allergies or maybe a sinus infection? Either way if I don't pop my ears soon I'm gonna go bananas, it's been about 4 days now since I felt normal. Help!!!!

It is possible you have a sinus infection.. especially if you are running a low fever, if not it is probably just impacted sinuses. If you are not taking decongestants start.. and start using simply saline nasal spray about 4 times a day.. add "ponaris" OTC nasal oil into the mix and you are doing everything OTC possible. The Ponaris tends to have to be order by your pharmacy.. it has helped me a lot of late.

Sometimes our bodies develop a tolerance to drugs we take. You may need to be swapped off of your current anti-histamine to another one.. so your body chemistry can reset. Three months is the minimal body chemistry reset time.

Thanks for the advice. I tried Sudafed and nasal spray but it did not work so I went to see my doc and got a prescription for nasaquort and a decongestant pill. Still haven't been able to pop my ears though, I hope that comes soon.
