Epipen Question - Allergies Message Board

Apparantly the company that manufactures Epipen recommends you throw them away if they are exposed to temperatures below 59F. Living in the Northwest, it's almost always colder than that and I sometimes forget them in my truck. The company says they have never tested the injectors in low temps and they cannot guarantee they will work. Twice now, I have left my Epi's in my truck overnight on accident and the temp was about 48F.

My question is this: has anyone used their epi's after they were exposed to cold weather? Did they work?

hello, yes I ahve my son had left his eppi in the car and it was bellow 0 out side and it was in the car for two days, I had just filled the Rx and never had a chance to get it from the car untill two days latter and when I did get it I used it like maybe four days latter on my son and it worked with no problem. It nevered happened again after that but it did still work. I hope this helped you!

Thank you very much for replying! When I called and talked to the Epipen manufacturer, the tech told me they had never tested it in cold wetaher and I simply asked her "well why not? Do you think we all live in 70f+ degree weather???"

Yes I agree they should have tested it before they put it out on the market! How could a customer have a question about thier product and they can't answer thats not professional! But I'm glad I can help you out some!
