Off Allergy Meds Before Allergy Skin Testing
I am having allergy testing again next week. I had to go off several of my allergy medications in preparation for the testing. I have been on them for many many years so I don't know how my body really is without them. So far, I am getting some intense itching across my body at times and I have gotten occasional spots of hives. I don't know if it is as a result of a psychosomatic reaction to being off the medications I have come to rely on, a form of withdrawl, or true reactions to allergens in my environment. I do have extreme grass allergies and have been exposed to alot of fresh cut grass lately. Anyone have any experience with allergic reactions when going off allergy medications?
Anyone have any suggestions to get me through to next week?

Minimize exposure to what you know are your allergies.. use saline spray routinely throughout the day.. caffeine will help with asthmatic effects but other than that.. it just sucks.. been there done that myself.. four times. If you do not have an epipen you should see about getting one until you are back on your meds once more.
Baby oil and check about calamine lotion.. you can not use any steroidal substances or anti-histamines.. because these will cause you to false negative on your tests.
