Unhappy allergies and no relief

I'm allergic to many many many things. Anything outside unless its' winter (other than the pine and green trees), dust, mold, EVERYTHING! I'm also allergic to sweat, salt water (doesn't help I live near a ocean!), even taking a bath sometimes will hive me out. This year is the worse it's been in a while. I go to bed at night and just wheeze till I finally fall asleep. My husband said he wants to wake me up often because I sound like I'm breathing through a straw. I take Singular but it's not really helping my allergies. I'm also allergic to many drugs, and all natural remedies (obviously plants are just not my thing). Coffee and me have become great friends and not nessisarily because I like it, it helps me breath. I can't take Claritain, or Zyrtech(Sp) they break me out and I get sick from the allergy shots they tried to give me. I have animals and I know to stay away from them or wash up, but unfort I can't wash everytime I go outside, sweat, ect.
What might any of you suggest?

Re: allergies and no relief

Hi Chillins, my daughter and I have gotten a different kind of allergy shot called Low Dose Allergen or LDA. My daughter was allergic to almost all food and is good to go now after only 3 shots (spaced 2 months apart). Her last shot was December 1st. I get my 5th shot on Monday and I already don't have my severe toiletry allergy anymore and am still working on my food and inhalant allergies. Let me know if you want anymore info. (In our experience it seems that the worst allergies go away first but the doc told me that everyone is different). It works differently than traditional allergy shots because this shot is presumed to turn off miscoded T-cells.

Not the original poster but I would love more info on this. I did a search but was only able to find info on regular shots. Is this just smaller amounts of the allergen over a longer period of time? I have lost track of how many times doctors have tried allergy shots for my son. They try the tiniest amounts possible and he still reacts. Very frustrating!

Lisa, you can get more info by looking up what they call it in England, EPD or Enzyme Potentiated Desensitization. They call it LDA here. The LDA serum matches our allergens here better. What is your son allergic to? Yes, it is very low allergen amounts and you have to keep your allergens low around the time of the shot in order for it to work (special diet, in a clean house, no chemicals, etc.)

Thanks for the info. It doesn't look like this will work for my son. It isn't possible to keep him away from the things he is allergic to unless I stick him in a bubble! lol He is on a special diet (no preservatives or dyes, no eggs, dairy, soy, nuts, etc.). He is allergic to so many things I can't list them all (dust, mold, pollen, trees, grass, foods, etc). We have all hardwood floors in our house, a special vacuum, air purifiers, no curtains anywhere, mattress protectors, etc. We live pretty close to a bubble house environment now and nothing seems to help my son.
