Yes I developed horrible food anxiety after having a horrible reaction of some kind within 20 minutes of taking a couple of bites off of my husband's peanut filled candy bar.

I had eaten peanuts in some form my entire life. I have never had food or environmental allergies of any kind. I was tested within one week of the reaction and every test came back totally negative. As in "absent/undectable". I had both skin testing and blood work done. The allergist told me he was absolutely certain I had no food allergies...but I became so terrifed not wanting to experience that again....that I developed anxiety literally overnite. I have no history of that either.

This was almost 10 months ago....I went down to 95 pounds before hitting rock bottom. I looked at food as my enemy...something that would now kill me.

With tons of family support and emotional support from my internist and the allergist....I finally started coping and began eating small amounts of food. I am now back up to my normal weight of 105 pounds. But I still have anxiety over food fairly frequently. I don't look at food the way I used too. Eating out used to be entertainment whether that be at home or on vacation. Now there's an ever so slight twinge of fear. Hopefully one day, that will pass as well.

So yes.....I totally understand your anxiety.
