Does anyone else have this (PATM) People are Allergic To Me? I have only found one thread on another message baord about this.
I have had this problem pretty much for at least 8-10 years.When I get nervous which I do frequently as I have anxiety I have people around me rubbing thier eyes,sniffling & sneezing ALOT.It goes on and on until they get away from me.It only seems to happen when I am anxious or now that I have hot flashes (50+ here). I have tried everything to address odours,purfumes etc.I use unscented deodorant.I wash my clothes with mild detergent and stopped using fabric softener.I do not wear perfume and even though my hands are dry do not wear hand lotion.I have stopped using mousse and hairspray in my hair.I do not use any other scented whatevers.I drink a couple glasses of wine a night with dinner but other than that take vitamins,exercise and eat pretty well.I don't smell but after I have nervous sweat for a while I have a slight smell under my arms but nothing anyone notices.
When I am around friends and family and do not feel anxious it is not bad at all but when I am at work I have had people tell me that they don't want to sit beside me cause they sneeze so much and are stuffed up all day with me there.Even if I am in a car with someone that I feel nervous with they have a huge allergy attack. I have noticed when I get hot in a car and it is cold out that I seem to fog it up.
Whenever people leave for coffee,lunch or go home they are fine but once they are around me they have the symptom all over again.A manager has sat by me at work for the last couple of days and he sneezes 6-8 times in a row at least 6 times in the day.He said quote " I don't want to sit by you cause every time I do I sneeze repeatedly and get stuffed up".I can't handle this.I want to quit my job for all the stress I am going thru.People are telling me that I am causing their allergies and it makes me so stressed.This happens with all the workers if they are close to me for any length of time.I have kleenex on my desk which they use alot. I never tell most people since they think I am crazy and this is so embarrassing.I have told my parents,my sister and a friend and they think it is all in my head cause when I am with them I am not nervous and I don't sweat.Whenever we get together for a family function or I go out with my friends we have a couple drinks so I am never nervous then.I just don't know what to do and it makes me feel so depressed and alone.I can not have a relationship because of this.I am having a problem going to work when everyone starts sneezing,etc around me,I feel like running because this then turns into a full panic mode.This is very debilitating to my life.I have told my Doctor but she thinks it's all in my head and she has never heard of this before.
I wish someone could help me with this......

i have the same problem.IVE HAD THIS PROBLEM FOR NEARLY 10 YEARS NOW AND I KNOW IT IS GETTING WORSE.IT STARTED OF WITH PEOPLE AROUND ME SNEEZING AROUND ME .I THOUGHT TO MY SELF IS IT ME OR MY COLOGNE OR DEODARANT THAT IM WEARING .SO I STOPPED WEARING THEM AND USE NATURAL PRODUCTS EVEN SOAPS I CHANGED BUT IT DIDN'T STOP .WHEN EVERY ID STEP INTO TO A ROOM OF PEOPLE THEY WOULD START SNEEZING.THAT WENT ON FOR ABOUT 4 YEARS THEN I NOTICE IT GETTING WORSE THAT WHEN I WAS AROUND PEOPLE FOR LONG LENGTHS I NOTICED THEM TO START SNEEZING AND COUGHING, AND EVEN COMING DOWN WITH FLU LIKE SYMPTONS.NOW I NOTICE WHEN I GO INTO A ROOM PEOPLE WITH HAVE COUGHING SPASM ,SNEEZE,ITCHY NOSES AND EVEN PINCH THERE NOSES .IT HAS AFFECTED SO BAD THAT PEOPLE I WORK WITH WOULD COMMENT AROUND ME SAY CAN YOU SMELL THAT OR EVEN SAY IT VERY DUST AROUND HERE .IVE BEEN TO SO MANY DOCTORS AND THEY THINK ITS ALL IIN MY HEAD .BUT WHAT MAKES MATTERS WORSE IS NOW I HAVE A 4 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER AND SINCE SHE WAS BORN SHE SNEEZING FITS RUNNY NOSES AND FLU LIKE SYMPTONS AND NOW THE DOCTORS HAVE DIAGNOSED HER WITH ASTHMA AND SERVERE UPPER RESPATORY PROBBLEMS SHE HAS BEEN ADMITTED TO THE HOSPITAL AT LEAST 20 TIME SINCE .AND TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE IT SEEMS LIKE EVEN PEOPLE LIVING NEXT DOOR TO ME ARE EVEN COUGHING AND SNEEZING AND GETTING SICK .DOCTORS SAY I DONT HAVE B.O PROBLEM I AGREA BUT I THINK MY BODY RELEASE SOME SORT IMONIA OR EVEN SOME SCENT IF ANY 1 CAN HELP PLEASE HELP .
