| Re: Has Anyone Tried The Neti Pot For Their Allergies?
I just started using one yesterday. (Well it's the squirt bottle kind, but same idea). My doctor recommended the same kind of thing because he's been doing it for many years and it helps his sinuses tremendously. He just snorts back the mixture of water, salt, and baking soda, and then blows it back out. Works great for him. These pots/squirt bottles just seem like an easier way to do it. He uses it once a week normally. But if his sinuses start to get a bit worse he goes back to daily use until they clear up again. It sounds like it something you have to get in the habit of doing even when your sinuses are not acting up.
My mother just started using a neti pot last week. She has chronic sinus infections and often has to take heavy decongestants and antibiotics. She finally got sick of that and tried the neti pot instead. Four days later her sinuses are clear and the sinus pressure headaches have ended. That was enough proof for me to buy one. Once the little packets run out I will probably try some different saline solutions in it. Some may work better for some than others.
