I developed allergies when I moved in 1995. I was finally diagnosed with asthma in January of 2002. Developed GERD around the same time (GERD and asthma have a high coorelation of occuring together. I developed eczema a couple years ago. My PCP called the allergies/ asthma/ eczema an allergic triad. I understand they frequently occur together.
In additional to all of the environmental stuff: mold, animals, pollens, dust, etc..., I've also developed a serious allergies to the adhesives on bandages. Get a raging case of contact dermatitis from all types of bandage adhesives.
The allergies from products others use can really be a pain. I have the same problem with perfumes and lingering smoke from smokers. They trigger my asthma.
Are you seeing specialists? I changed from my allergy/asthma doc to an ENT and Pulmonologist. I also see a good Opthomologist for the dry eye. I seem to be having more success with the new docs.
What types of meds are you on? |
Asthma = albuterol & Azmacort (will probably change, it was a sample)
Allergies = 12 months doing immunolgy, singulair, Flonaise, claratin
Eczema = had forever...usually don't treat unless it bleeds
Hypo -Thyroid= Armour thyro
poor circulation in feet, blood goes down, but won't come back up= (3)80mg aspirin daily
Dry eyes = restatsis
Reynaunds - no treatment
I thought the allergy/asthma doc WAS the specialist ...I hate mine, feel like I'm a cow and she's trying to milk me for everything I'm worth yet ask her questions pertaining to allergies/asthma and she refers me to my PCP. Thank you, I will definately look at going to a real specialist.
My favorite PCP told me that dry eye, reynaunds, thyroid could be part of a syndrome like lupus or an immune disorder or something...she moved.
My allergies are so bad I never come in contact with dog/cat...just folks that were around them sets me off...father-n-law(has 2 cats) visited us for an hour...was only in the kitchen/livingrm and it took me 3 weeks of vacuuming/dusting/ daily/washed the walls/cupboards 7 times, washed my curtains, changed my furnance filter, before I could walk thru the kitchen/livingrm without being attached. that's INSANE
Do you think the GERD is from inhaling steroids? Do you rinse afterwards?
