Enzymes to break up mucus?

A nurse, before a procedure I had done (not related to allergies) told me to take "enzymes" to break up mucus in the nose/throat. I LIVE with it constanlty even on antihistimines every day-it is especially bad during this time of year!

Anyway, I had no idea what she was talking about and she mentioned a certain brand/pill , but I can't recall what it was-I looked for it in the stores and didn't find it. I take mucinex already- is this what she was refering to?
