Itchy roof of mouth

Do any of you get and itchy roof of your mouth when having allergies? When I sneeze and get messed up from pollen and grass outside the top of my mouth itches and I just want to get pressing my tongue there to itch it. Why does this happen? The only way to get it under control is taking some Benadryl.

If any of you have this? What allergies do you have that cause this? How do you remedy it? Thanks for any replies!

Re: Itchy roof of mouth

Sometimes it's part of hay fever, sometimes it happens when you eat certain fruits and vegetables during pollen season. (See oral allergy syndrome.)

Sometimes my entire head itches during pollen season, and my face breaks out in hives! Antihistamines are DEFINITELY the best way to deal with it.

Re: Itchy roof of mouth

Thanks Jane! I appreciate that you answered me. I am having such a really hard time since I had to stop my allergy shots. I can't afford the shots and boy am I suffering. This past week it has been so dry with no rain and my grass allergies are out of control. I just hate going outside. I think it may be creeping into my apartment. I have sneezing attacks and congesting the whole nine yards. I am on all kinds of meds and walk around in a loopy state.

Do you have any suggestions? Do you put air purifiers in your house? In every room? Do you notice a big difference? I have one but the filter needed changed long ago and I can't find one since this machine is older. I am planning on buying a new one when I can.

Thanks for your help. I find that Benadryl is the only thing that helps my itchy mouth.
