Constant problems since quitting smoking

About 2 1/2 years ago I quit smoking (after around 25 years). Since then it seems like everything is going haywire.

First, had a bad sinus infection that had to be treated. Then (about 6 months after quitting) i got pink eye. Got that taken care of. Next came a heart problem. Extremely fast beating, went to the doctor, couldn't find anything. Since then I believe (according to symptoms), that it is PSVT. After that, came this weird rash, EXTREMELY itchy. Just shows up in different places for awhile, then goes away (after a few weeks) then comes back somewhere else.
I finally went to a dermatologist and later had a patch test done. Found to be allergic to several things (Ammonium Persulfate, Balsam of Peru, Carba Mix, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, and Methyldibromo Glutaronitrile).

Since then I have tried everything under the sun to get rid of the rash. I have changed anything that even remotely touches my skin. Tried different diet options.....nothing! It seems that since I quit smoking everything went downhill.

So......question is, when I quit did I throw my system in panic mode? The main thing is the rash. While I do now have it manageable the only thing that really helped it is Prednisone. So what about boosting my immune system? Maybe....Maybe not.....just out of options.

Re: Constant problems since quitting smoking

My mother and sister have both developed severe Asthma since quitting. I've been hesitant to quit for that reason, among others.
The tobacco companies researched every possible means of addiction, what they have done with that information is not clear. I personally suspect a physiological change that may be irreversable. Bare in mind, I am purely speculating.
I hope you can get relief.
