Hello, I am new to these boards. But,
have come across your posts in C-Trimeton.
I have lots of allergies going on, was tested
last week at my ENTs office. Am experiencing
sinus head pressure, stuffy ears, tinnitus,
PND at times and off-balance feeling. Had
a CT sinus scan done two days ago and
will see my ENT in a few days. I started
taking the C-Trimeton today, 4 mg, just took
2nd pill. It seems like I can already notice
some improvement. How long does it
take for full effect? I can only find 4 mg
at stores. Can I take 3 pills at once 2x
a day for 12 hr effect? Are you still
taking these? What else are you doing
for your allergies?
Welcome to board! DOn't know who you were directing this to but you'd have to read the package or ask a pharmacist about dosage. You could try a once a day pill like zyrtec or claritin (both of which are very cheap) to see it that works. A wee or so should be sufficient to see how well they will work.
I had seen where C-Trimeton (on another
Thread) had stopped working for you
after being on it for 5 years. What are
you doing for you issues now? Also,
have you tried allergy shots?
Thanks for replying! My question was to
Cut Throat but certainly welcome all.
Apparently, C-Trimeton is the silver bullet
for allergy/ear issues when it comes to off
balance/dizziness. Zyrtec, Claritin and Allegra (Allegra
makes me dizzy) don't do what C-Trimeton
does. I also did find the 12 hr of C-Trimeton
on Amazon.
The old antihistamines make you drowsy, but I find they are faster acting and much more effective than the newer ones.
The maximum safe dosage is 6 pills per day, but you should not take more than 1 every 4 hours. I know it's annoying to keep remembering your medicine all day, but it beats overdosing. Besides, that's what cellphone reminders are for.
Hi Jane,
I have been taking 1,4mg pill every 6 hours.
I thought I would try the 12 hr. and ordered
off the Internet (Chlorphen 12). It made me
very dizzy and that was taken before bed. I was
still dizzy the next morning with a bad headache.
Not sure if the 12 hr. is too strong? But, will
not take any more. Went back to my 4 mg.
and it's as if I have to start over again, cause
I still have the off balance feeling like I did before
I started taking the 4 mg. And, i feel that the 12 mg causes
this. I thought the Chlorphen 12 had the
same ingredients as C-Trimeton? Weird, huh?
