| | Length of time for completion of immunotherapy
I'm currently on my second go-round of immunotherapy. The first time, I was completed with treatment just under 5 years. I did well for 5-6 years after I completed treatment, then my allergies started in again. This time, I'm dealing with asthma in addition to the allergies. That has slowed my immunotherapy treatment. When I got my shot today, I realized I've been on my current immunotherapy treatment for 5 years and 2 months. I'm getting 2 shots about 3 times a month, with a Xolair (allergic asthma) shot on the "off" week. Right now, I don't have an anticipated completion timeframe for my immunotherapy. As long as I'm making progress, that doesn't worry me. Having my allergies and asthma under control is what is most important.
This got me thinking about how immunotherapy progress really is an individual thing. I'm curious, how long have you been on immunotherapy treatment? What timeframes have your doctors shared with you?
