Food dependant exercise induced anaphylaxis??

Hi i'm Charlie, recently been diagnosed with "Food Dependant (Wheat) Exercise Induced Anaphylaxis" long story short been strugling with attacks and symptoms for 3 years and finally been given diagnosis last week, but i can't seem to find anything that really explains what i have and how to really manage it.

Doctor has put me on a wheat free diet, which if you look at ingredients to most daily foods they contain wheat!! im really struggling to find a diet that suits and foods that wont bankrupt me because they are wheat free.

Is any one else here suffering with this or similar condition?

Re: Food dependant exercise induced anaphylaxis??

There seems to be a good bit of literature out there on this...even one that talks about FDEIA being more prevalent in Japan. Wheat seems to be the main trigger with apsirin being one that has evidenced itself more recently.

As for a wheat free diet, you would probably have to prepare your food from scratch rather than buying prepared foods. Wheat allergies are fairly common so there are a lot of substitute products available such as rice flour, etc. And if you suspect you've ingested flour, I assume there is a time frame during which you should avoid exercise.
