There seems to be a good bit of literature out there on this...even one that talks about FDEIA being more prevalent in Japan. Wheat seems to be the main trigger with apsirin being one that has evidenced itself more recently.
As for a wheat free diet, you would probably have to prepare your food from scratch rather than buying prepared foods. Wheat allergies are fairly common so there are a lot of substitute products available such as rice flour, etc. And if you suspect you've ingested flour, I assume there is a time frame during which you should avoid exercise.
