allergic to printer ink

I have noticed that I am not the only person who is allergic to printer ink together with all my other allergies.
I was wondering if one can be desensitised from it as it is difficult having to work fulltime and trying to avoid a reaction.
I had a very bad reaction a week ago which required me to take 50 mgs of cortisone plus 25 mgs phenergan. My hands, arms, neck and ears all went blood red and my heart rate increased and I had to go home and sleep it off.
